Classic Rock Fan Community: Led Zep, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Doors & More

Here's an interesting Rock myth: On September 1968 shortly after finishing The Doors European tour,  Jim Morrison decided to stay for a while in London. On September 23th it is rumored that he went to Abbey Road Studios where The Beatles were finishing the recording sessions for the White Album. Lennon was working on the song "Happiness Is A Warm Gun", and legend says Morrison sung along the "Mother Superior Jump The Gun" famous line. There is no record however of him ever being in the studio, though some Beatles experts been saying for decades that he was indeed there but for a very short amount of time hence nobody kept a record of his visit. Helping the myth is the line "like a lizard on a window pane" which some says Lennon sung in reference to Morrison seeing them recording from the studio window pane, the Lizard is a reference to Lizard King. It's just a myth but it's very interesting, The Beatles were indeed Doors fans, even recently Ringo Starr made an appearance with a Doors t-shirt.

Very interesting!  I've heard that story before too.  I've often wondered if there was any truth to it.

it's a rock n'roll myth. might be possible, if someday I would be lucky enough to meet Paul McCartney that would be one of the top questions to ask (alongside with "are you really Paul LOL)
