This cool post card was sent from Jim Morrison to Max Fink, his lawyer at the time, eerily postmarked on the day after he died on July 2nd 1971. He sounded very happy...

Following my last post, well the day indeed must tbe the 3rd, I looked closer to the stamp and the 17 is followed by 45 which is the way in Europe we say 5.45 pm - I do bellieve is June 3rd, after the 3 there's a hole on the stamp, so the logical would be June. For a long time I've been familiar with this postcard and never really payed attention to the date. Nice one Richie! :)

Nice one Rich :D, I think though this was sent before July. I actually own a copy of this postcard from the book "The Jim Morrison Scrapbook" an excellent one with lots of copies from original Morrison/Doors documents, photos etc. i recomend it to every fan, it's like going thru Jim's stuff, the copies are near perfect as they're crafted to be as close as possible to the originals. Back to the postcard the original date I can't really tell, but by looking at the stamp, date looks like the 17th of March (3) given the fact that Jim arrived on the 11th of March and the vacations he's talking about happened after that (he returned in May from those vacations) I don't think it's march i'll need to check my archives but might be a dead end task as there's part of the stamp missing. Also he talks about being a beautiful Spring so was obviously before Summer, Im not sure but could be June, says Paris 06,  can be the arrodissement, t's a fact that on the 16th of June Jim was on Cafe De Flore that is located on the 6th arrondissement where he meet two american street musicians with whom he made his last recording session. That can explain the 17th on the date. Anyone has any clues here?
