Hello fellow C.R.A.S.s Fans,
Imagine my horror when I recently discovered that LA's "Oldies" station has expanded its playlists to include classic hits from the 1980's.
Now I'm well aware of time marching on, but really? Genres aside, are Tina Turner and Spandeau Ballet now in the same category as Elvis, Cream and Iron Butterfly?
Which brings me to our next question: How does one define "Classic" Rock? For me, even including the Sex Pistols is pushing it. I'd…

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls,
It is with great honor, aplomb and perhaps a teeny bit of trepidation, that I hereby announce the start of a brand new blog and club of sorts, the Classic Rock Appreciation Society.
I'll be updating with news, views and perhaps an occasional inter-view regarding all things rock and roll, from soup to nuts (I expect they'll be quite a few of those. . .)
So won't you join me on this little adventure? And aren't you glad I…

It's the first day of summer and for me a new beginning!
Welcome to dufusdownbeat and thanks for stopping by. This blog is an extension of nonamedufus, a humour blog and represnts a milestone in it's evolution. What began as primarily a photo and picture blog has pretty much morphed into written posts focussing on political and observational humour.
While I'm into both humour and music it was getting to the point where they…

The ability it has to generate into a powerful force among the people. Whether it delivers anguish or remorse, it activates a generation. The sophisticated deliverance it forms itself into educates the mind. Releasing rather pleasing tunes that sustains within the passage of time. Atrocious social conditions terminated by the determination of this power led proof to its unreckonable condition. Dictatorship only constructs evidence that manipulation has been placed upon it. Though not easily…

I worked at a record store in Hollywood in 1971. It attracted every musician, famous or newly discovered. Anyways the record, 2 disc set, Hot Rocks by the Rolling
stones came out. One day Mick Jagger and his buddies came in to check on sales and buy many other LPs... and I got him to autograph the jacket!!! Going thru my LPs recently, I came across this gem, which I had forgotten about!

Music is magic! Music speaks louder than words and it's a 'language' that the whole world understands. Did you know that people can be mentally conditioned to respond to a set stimulus like a series of tone signals? It works almost like a telephone does: You can dial a certain combination of numbers and that special sequence keys the equipment to connect one instrument with another. You've probably noticed at times how if a piece of music hits the right combination of notes for you; it can…
