Hi Gang ...

New member here. My name is Tony Matteliano and I am 56 years old.

Mark Matteliano is a member here and is my baby brother :)   I used to work for a concert promotor back in the late 70's and early 80's named Harvey and Corky in the Buffalo NY area.

My job was to stand center stage at concerts, behind a protective barrier between he crowd and the band, I had to make sure that people did not try to get up on the stage. This gave me a unique opportunity to see many many groups having a seat closer than anyone in the audience.

By the way, Harvey from Harvey and Corky Productions is now Harvey Weinstein, head of Merimac Productions, one of the biggest movie makers in Hollywood.

I was lucky enough to get my picture on the cover of the Rush album Exit Stage Left. The live shot was taken in Buffalo NY in 1981 and you can see me working center stage security in the picture.

I have worked MANY memorable concerts, including The Who on Dec 4, 1979 which was there first concert after many people were tragically killed in a stampede for festival seats at a concert in Cinncinnati.

I once had to pick brown M&M's out of a big bowl of M&M's for Van Halen concert because they had a clause that there be 4 pounds of M&M's with no brown ones as a clause in their contract.

I have many wonderful rock memories and a head full of trivia that I am eager to share with everyone.

Thanks for having me as a member.

OMG yes. My hearing was muffled for days. And my voice was shot for a couple of days too.

Ah yes. It was nice to have a brother in that security position. My very first concert was AC/DC in 1983. I was 13 years old and my friend Jeff and I bought tickets in the nose bleeds. I was instructed by Tony to "..find me and flag me down". I did so and he wanted to watch over his kid brother, as any brother would, and popped two chairs for Jeff and I in the FRONT ROW left side ! Talk about a cool first concert experience !
