I hadn't mentioned Nirvana cause they're a 90's band but, speaking about the more recent power trios,no doubt I would put Nirvana on my top list; I also like Minutemen (not many people know them) they were one of those bands that I think (in my opinion) could have been at the same level as R.E.M or Jane's Addiction in the 90's if D.Boon hadn't passed away so soon in 1985. Anybody who's interested in knowing more about this band I'd recommend the documentary "We Jam Econo" - back to the topic Them Crooked Vultures are an interesting project I agree,Babes In Toyland were also a very interesting power trio back in the 90's.

Favourite is Budgie regardless of lineup - also like early Trapeze

I saw two of my favorites at the same concert in Miami 1968. Hendrix and Blue Cheer. Frank Zappa was there too.

I also love James Gang and ELP.
