Now i dont like to compare 2 awesome guitarist because i know people will be pissed at me for doing it but this has been bugging me for a long time who is better Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Page?
They both reinvented how to play guitar.
Feedback and Violin bow.
they both inspired nearly every band to date.
they are the most copied artist of our century
but who is better?
Personally i think Page is but thats just my onpion.

Wow...you have guts asking this. Personally, I enjoy Jimmy more but think Jimi had more talent.
Thank you....

It has just been bugging me. I do believe Jimmy had a better style and jimi was so influential and then Page was influential as well so its comes down to the wire but basically i think they were both gods and when jimi died in 1969 he gave the throne onto Page.
I agree Page all the way.
Tough call! I think they are both slightly different enough to make it hard call. Page is probably more well rounded, Hendrix more of a flair guitarist. I definitely think they are the top two guitarists of all time.
wHEN YOU PUT IY THYT WY TEAH YOU ARE GOOD AT SAYING IT
WITH THE TRUTH , THNK YOU
WHEN YOU SEE THEM BOTH FOR REAL IN CONCERT IT JUST BLOWS
YOUR MIND I GOT TO SIT ON STAGE WITH JIMI / AN SAW PGE IN NEW YOUR ND HE WAS GOOD BUT FOR ME JIMI WILL LWYS BE MY HERO
I saw them both in concert and jimi was the best ,and i don't care what people think of my opinion
OK I don't
hendrix+1
Oh I love Pagey, the violin bow? Pure genius!! He's an expert an writing music, and playing the guitar. Don't get me wrong, Jimi was good, but Jimmy is better in my opinion.
I'd like to know how the two of them inspired every band to date. I'm sure a lot of those guys in bands dated, but a whole lot more of them just took advantage of every groupie that was throwing themselves at them. Do you mean bands dating other bands? I never heard of that, but I know a lot of shenanigans were going on. Maybe like Rob Halford and Freddie Mercury hooking up? I don't get it.
I couldn't resist. Yes. Of course it means until now, or up to this point.
As far as the original question though, neither are better. Both are great. Page gets my vote since he has had a longer time to create material but he couldn't match the blues as Jimi played them. Now THAT'S incendiary. Like a Russell Hammond solo..................
Thats funny - I guess you haven't heard that expression before - 'to date' can also mean time up until now - that is what he was really referring to.
