Who do you reckon is the best 'lost' rock band of the 70's; Leaf Hound, Quatermass, Cactus, Night Sun, Lord Baltimore, Atomic Rooster ???

Excuse my ignorance... but I have never actually heard of any of these bands :)
they are all bands from the early 70's late 60's, found on chrisgoesrock site, or collective collection or bought legally on amazon, like the second tier of classic rock

Toe Fat (Before Uriah Heep) Check them out at Rock and Roll Classics

Peace, "Chili"
Buffalo, Winterhawk, Pentagram, T2 and Granicus are good ones. Big ups to the guy who mentioned Triumvirat. I think they were well regarded in Europe, but we missed out on them in my little hick town :)
Atomic Rooster was not a "lost" rock band, had several hits , best of them been "Devil's Answer" & "Tomorrow Night"
Vincent Crane was a great keyboards player - "Keith Emerson on acid :)" , can also hear him with Crazy
World Of Arthur Brown , he did the keyboards on the great FIRE by Arthur Brown.
