Hard to believe it's been 50 years...some facts about 1963 in America..President Kennedy assassinated, cars were $3,000, a stamp was 5 cents, gas was 29 cents a gallon, Federal debt was $310 billion, average house was $13,000, top selling album was Tony Bennent I Left My Heart in San Francisco, first heart and liver transplants performed, Valium was marketed, Lawrence of Arabia voted best picture, Alcatraz closed, lava lamps and touch tone phones came out, zip codes assigned by the post office, Studabaker folded, MLK I Have a Dream speech, Vietnam was on the back pages, Whiskey A-Go-Go opens in LA and I was still in grade school.

thanks - great stuff
