Classic Rock Fan Community: Led Zep, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Doors & More

Hey you guys.  I'm bored and I've always wanted to create a forum discussion so here we go.  Please, humor me on my discussion choice.

I'm curious..  do you listen to anything other than classic rock?

Is it modern...is it even older than classic rock...is it embarrassing?

Let's see...what are my "playlist confessions"..

I've professed my love for The Doors, but I also enjoy

-The Smiths

-Iggy Pop

-Luna (late '80s early '90s)

-Galaxie 500 (same)

-David Bowie

-I'm really into the music from Rocky Horror Picture Show

-Maps & Atlases (modern..cool sound.  You'll either love or hate them.  Check them out!!  My Dad's a classic rock fan-Hates them.  My brother's a classic rock fan-loves)

-Frank Ocean (Don't kill me...!!!)

-Norah Jones (Come on, I'd kill to have that sultry voice)

-And, I'm a musical theatre freak.  There, there I said it!  Haha.

I can't help it, I'm a theatre kid.  I act, I sing, I dance.  The whole bit.  Shoot me.  But before you do that tell me bellow what else you listen to..and don't be afraid:)

My favorite music after Classic Rock and Southern Rock has to be Blues and Blues Rock...But all of these can be added to the Classic Rock Genre in many counts...so no to my Confession....

I am a HUGE fan of Bluegrass and Country Music!!!

Now I have said it!!!Feel so free again!LOL

I really liked disco music back in the 70s but don't have much chance to listen to it now!  I also like Michael Jackson.. his song "Man in the Mirror" is my favorite by him!

Oops!  I forgot to mention that I'm a big Stevie Wonder fan too !  I've liked him since the 70s.  He's a gifted and great artist and I like just about all his music!

I love all kinds of music from arabic chillout music to opera. I think I can find something I like in almost all genres..  Thx for posting this discussion :)

Opera is fantastic! Haha I'm a classically trained singer so I'm like AAAH!! Haha and your welcome(:

Taylor just saw your reply.. yeah its awesome and always makes me cry ;) Really does a number on my emotions in a good way :)  Would love to hear you sing. Maybe you can post a link to your music if you have one :)

hehehe.  Oh, I've always wanted to post something but it's so intimidating!

Maybe if I make it big(; hehe.  I would like to pursue it at a conservatory.

But enough about me and my pipe dreams.  Yes, definitely emotional.  And of course, comedic operas are great, I saw Falstaff a few months ago.  So funny(:

There was this bar we would play at and the frist sit we played had to be country, got to say that I was grown up with a lot of country music in the house--still like it but as for writeing no country will come out of my mouth. still when my mother was with us I would play a lot for her==classic rock is my  baby, but country is still in there somewhere--and that doesent hurt me much,as long as not a lot people don't know it---what am I sayin now everone knows it if there on this site---please and love charles

that's peace and love---my bad

I was recently told about a jazz artist from the Netherlands - Caro Emerald (Caroline Esmeralda van der Leeuw) she has a great song called Tangled up - done in the style of a tango (I guess Tangoed up???) I really enjoy that song.

I also like the following:

Loreena Mckennit - Canadian Celtic music

Cross canadian ragweed - country

Toby Keith - country

Montgomery Gentry - country

Vannesa mae - classical violin

Within Temptation - belgium rock

Bob Marley - reggae

steel pulse - reggae

Unlike sleater kinney I'm all about rock n roll fun.

Joni Mitchell, Barclay James Harvest, Dean Friedman, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Kevin Ayers, Kris Kristofersson, Tracy Chapman, Tanita Tikarim, Leonard Cohen, to name but a few.

For the next 8 weeks every Sunday night I will be watching Breaking Bad!!
