Classic Rockers Network

Classic Rock Fan Community: Led Zep, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Doors & More

Well I know cars are considered antiques or "classics" at 25 years. Guns n Roses formed 1986, so if my math is correct, it has been 23 years since the release of "Appetite for Destruction" (seems just like yesterday). Well anyway, would it be Ok if I added a Guns n Roses group to the ever growing list of bands? Please let me know what you guys think! Peace RJ

Good question Joseph - its something that has been mentioned here before on classic rockers network.

Personally, I don't consider Guns n Roses to be classic rock - nor will I ever. Not because I dont think they are a great or classic band. But to me, classic rock is considering an era. I consider rock music that was around in the 60s and 70s to be classic rock. Thereby ruling out Guns N Roses, and other 80s bands.

Therefore, you won't find any 'classic' groups on here that were formed during the 80's, or even the 50's or 90's for that matter. Sorry :)
Not a problem Rich. I thought I would ask first before starting a group not from the "classic" era of the 60's & 70"s which I do agree was the classic time of rock. Thanks again. Peace
That was one of my favorite Shows and Albums! Is it considered classic Rock? I dont think so, but if it is its one of my favs, as well as ACDC, Im gonna have to Say that the Guns of Roses tour that year may have been my best concerts ever, I got to go to two of the shows and I was backstage! The one in LA I was on stage but behind the big black screen I could see out but no one could see in and I stood opposite side the members came on and just rocked my freakin brains out! Looking into the audience not sure to watch the show or just look at the audience.I just did both! Played pool with Slashes family before the concert started, the lead singer of Metallica was just walking around by himself and I didnt really know who he was yet? HAHA Ya I like G&R too bad Axel got all Out of Sorts! Just wanted to share. Oh and Hello!
I love GNR. <3
They´re definetely a vintage classic band with classic albums and have been added to classic rock playlists these last years (like Bon Jovi for example), though I understand what Rich say's I would put them on the "rock" only genre. But they're a great band, and as a rock lover definetely I'll say one of the best bands ever.
