John was so upset that Paul made the announcement that the BEATLES had broken -up that John tried tried to talk George and Ringo into forming a new group called THE LADDER - who was set to be the new bassist ?

Well I'm gonna take a wild guess. I remember reading once there was a rumour that Elton John was considered as a replacement member for Paul!
