Did you see Pete Ham is getting a Blue Plaque in Swansea.

He co-wrote Without You, one of pop music’s most iconic ballads, is to be honoured by his home city.

Pete Ham, from Townhill in Swansea helped pen the song that created a world-wide phenomenon for Harry Nilsson in the 1970s and was later covered by Mariah Carey and scores of other artists.

Now, 40 years after his global success, Ham is to have a blue plaque unveiled next year at a ceremony coinciding with a tribute concert celebrating his music with The Iveys and 1970s rock group Badfinger.

Ham was a founder member of the groups and wrote three of their hits, No Matter What, Day After Day and Baby Blue.

Love the band Badfinger i remember seeing them on The Midnight Special, of couse they were overshadowed being on Apple records. Ended up being both a blessing and a curse. Love Pete's voice great news of award.

Bad management also - Pete and later Tom commited suicide - great sounds - diverse types of songs

There is a Pledge campaign to release a double album of previously unheard Demo's first in a series i am told.
