2) Foo Fighters

Anyone can edit Wikipedia.  Its a nice reference but some of the info isn't that accurate. Also, it was a poll and not everyone takes the polls. So that is as accurate as you want it to be..

Wow, so tough. The Eagles, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd,The Allman Brothers Band, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

If this includes all of North America, I would throw in Rush & Triumph.
If it is United States only it is:

1. Aerosmith

2. Boston

3. ZZ Top (Zed Zed Top in Canada and Europe)

4. Van Halen

5. Bob Seger (and the silver bullet band)

Interesting poll! Here would be my top 5:

1: The Doors

2: Jimi Hendrix

3: Tom Petty

4: Bruce Springsteen

5: Pearl Jam

Ramones and Metallica certainly don't qualify for top 5 in my opinion...

I had the Eagles on mine Bear, but AC/DC doesn't qualify as Aussies.

zeppelin doesnt either uk. I had a hard time answering this because my favorites are from uk.. :) maybe we need  a favorite bands from uk thread ;)
