I was raised listening to Janis in all her glory...Thanks Mom. She is, for me,  the epitome of passionate, soulful classic rock and had a voice that was and is uniquely her own. The many Biographies, including "Love Janis"  written by her sister Laura and based on years of correspondence throughout her short lived but remarkable career opens a window into some of the pain and sorrow we hear in so much of her music. Her version of "Summertime" showcases the her exceptional vocal talents and allows the listener to "experience" her interpretation of this great tune. Her hard rockin, belting explosions are pure joy as she grabs us and holds us spellbound. She is undoubtedly the Queen of Classic Rock...
