I love Skynyrd, but what stands out most to me is, Gimme Three Steps, That Smell, Saturday Night Special, and Simple Man. Poorly made movies have commercialized Free Bird, Sweet Home Alabama, though they're really great songs, but Lynyrd Skynyrd isn't Much without Ronnie Van Sant. Gary Rossington is still a bad ass guitar player, I stay true to the original line up. Long live Lynyrd Skynrd!!!!

My favorite song is "You got that right", then "I know a little", then "That Smell" and then "MCA" and 'The Breeze".

I hear they are back on tour without Billy Powell since his passing, I have no idea how they will ever be able to pull this off, he can never be replaced.

I am curious to know what everyone's favorite Lynryrd songs are - a newer favorite of mine is Comin' Home. I also love Tuesdays Gone, and of course Free Bird... any other suggestions for great songs by them to listen to?

Pre '77 version of Skynyrd was by far the best generational version of the band. The talent of Ed King and later Steve Gaines, Rossington & Collins combined with the gutsy lyrics and stage presence of Ronnie Van Zant, combined with the 4th-guitar parts of Leon, the honky-tonk piano of Billy Powell held together by the back-beat rhythym of Artie catapulted this band into the forefront of Rock & Roll and opened doors for future southern rockers who may have never been if it were not for this band. Had they never had the plane crash, country music as it is today would have come to be as it is.
