I have been obsessed with The Doors as a group and especially with Jim Morrison ever since the very first time I heard "Light My Fire" being played on the radio on a hot summer day in 1967,when I was just a young teeny bopper who was already obsessed and infatuated with Paul McCartney, Davy Jones and Mark Lindsay(Paul Revere & the Raiders) to name a few. Jim Morrison was a whole different breed of Rockstar Frontman and that was part of the excitement and intrigue that got me hooked for life! I never got the chance to go to any Doors concerts, while Jim was still alive, partly due to my young age, unfortunately.Just the last couple of years, though,I have been fortunate to see Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger at The House of Blues in Anaheim and the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa with Dave Brock doing Jim's part. Dave has his own Doors tribute band called Wild Child and they've been keeping the Mojo Rising for over 20 yrs now. Dave is about the best Jim Morrison, you'll ever see or hear these days. He does a fantastic job of it. That's probably why he's been picked to tour with Ray and Robby. Seeing them together with Brock,is the next best thing to the real thing,in my opinion! And,man,I can't wait to see them with a Jim Morrison hologram in concert in the near future, That will be sooo trippy and surreal!
Went to Cleveland to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. They had the entire 6th floor dedicated to the Doors for their 40th anniversary. As I was walking up the staircase all I could hear was the intense growl of Jim's baritone voice. As I reached the top of the staircase everywhere I looked there was Doors memorablia and videos and interviews...it was pretty amazing! 6 days of traveling was well worth it! The Rest of the place was incredible I only wish that I could have stayed longer or had a chance to go back...one day to look through all that history is not enough! :D

Hello Doors forum!
I write The Doors Examiner, a 3-5 times a weekly series of articles on The Doors past, present, and immediate future. Today I published an article on Henry Diltz who photographed Morrison Hotel album cover, it's his birthday. I hope you enjoy the article!
Hey guys! Has anyone else bought Ray Manzarek's new album? He just collaborated with slide guitar player Roy Rogers on an album called "Translucent Blues". I just bought it and it is INCREDIBLE. A little different than typical Doors stuff but just as great! And it came with a signed laminate, which is awesome. Has anyone heard them play, I heard they are touring and want to know how they are.
PS. If you are interested, you can buy the album on their website.
