39 Years Later - Aerosmith Still Going Strong!

Believe it or not, Aerosmith actually formed in 1970 - that's 39 years ago! Nearly as long as the Rolling Stones have been around. And many people think of them as being an 80's hairband - but one of…Continue

Steven Tyler is Awesome on American Idol, I watched it once with Simon Cowell and couldn't stand it but Steven gives such a re-freshing feel and is Off the Wall Funny. JLo is a great match too and of course Randy Jackson I always liked. I'll watch at least the first hour every week just because of Steven ... \m/ On!

Can I just say here, WTF is going on with Aerosmith???
I cannot believe what is circulating in the rumor mills these days.

I think all five of them should be locked in a room together and forced to watch the Behind the Music programs they put out in the 90s where they all talk about why they realized they could not imagine not working as a team together...

As for finding a "replacement", that's just ridiculous! Maybe Boston and Journey happened to find a lead singer clone... but come one Aerosmith... gimme a break.

They need to practice what they preach and GET A GRIP!

I love these guys. Don't self-destruct on us... again.
Rock on... Peace, Kristen :)

I wonder who will take Steven Tyler's place... Would anyone here still go and see them without Tyler...?

main stream radio is a joke. i feel bad for artists today, we never hear from some of these really talented bands. i just don't get it. i like some of those later aerosmith songs too, just can't listen to those records top to bottom like their 1st 4 or 5.

Don't get me wrong... There are some awesome songs on Perm. Vacation, Pump, Get a Grip and even Nine Lives. Unfortunately, the 'GOOD' songs, the kick ass rock ones did not get the radio airplay. The cheesy pop-rock that a whole lot of people consider 'rock' is what got the airplay. And those are the ones that they play in concert too much... for me anyway.

That's the problem with some of the new shows. I love the raw sound of Aerosmith's albums up to Night in the Ruts(yeah I like that one) but the Perm Vaca, Get a Grip era doesn't work for me. They have brought in outside writers which killed their soul in my opinion. Ever hear The Joe Perry Project? Sure Joe was strung out on heroin and his guitar was out of tune but I love "Let the Music Do the Talkin'" & "I've Got the Rock n Rolls Again" check them out if you can find them.

As much as it pains me to, I have to express my disappointment with Aerosmith's recent show in Houston (The Woodlands).
I am not sure where the rumor got started, but word was going around that they were playing albums like Toys in the Attic and Rocks from beginning to end. I was so psyched.

I LOVE AEROSMITH. I admire the band is still together with all it's original members still in tact. I like the history they have shared with the world about their ups and downs throughout their years together, They are one of only a handful of bands I have the motivation to actually go out and see live...

Just my luck, days before our show, Tom Hamilton hurts himself and shows are canceled. Oh how I wish ours had been... not canceled, but re-scheduled.

They come to town with a fill in bass player. I am not knockin' the guy. He was fine... but it wasn't Aerosmith at that point.
The set list was mediocre at best. Sure, they played the 'favs'... Walk This Way, Dream On, Sweet Emotion, ...

Sadly, there is a whole new fan base who want to hear mainstream radio airplay songs like Jamie's Got a Gun, Livin' on the Edge, ...

I'm not one of them.

I paid top dollar for lawn tickets to see one of my favorite bands. I walked away so disappointed, I really don't think I will bother trying to see them live again.

Peace, Kristen :)
