They should have released a Woodstock Pt. 2 movie back in 1971 or 72 to get performances by CCR, Janis Joplin, the Airplane & the Dead.  I've seen Hendrix's complete performance lots of times & listened to the Who's whole  performance about 6 months ago or something.   I want to see a pic of Townshend kicking Abbie Hoffman with his guitar before I die.

hey wayne - awesome you have such an interest in woodstock. I remember going to see the Woodstock movie ever friday night. That was our entertainment. I never got tired of seeing the movie. Love hendrix and can't imagine anyone leaving when Hendrix was performing.. LOL  was too young to be there and would give anything  have a chance to see Hendrix perform at Woodstock.

I was too young to be there when it happened back in 69 but I have seen the documentary a million times, read books & seen whole performances. I think the best live performance from Hendrix was at Woodstock since it's way above Monterey & Isle Of Wight.  It's bluesy, ballsy, blistering & raw.  The ones who left the festival when he was doing Hey Joe must be kicking themselves.

Happy birthday, Joe Cocker. Still bringing the music and the memories.

Few Americans knew about Joe Cocker when he took the stage at Woodstock. That would change as soon as he finished his performance. Read about his performance and career on my Woodstock blog http://blog.mjmurphy.com/

Trying to keep Woodstock alive with my blog. So far I've featured Country Joe McDonald, Wavy Gravy, Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie, Melanie, CCR, CSN&Y, Grace Slick...probably a few more, but hey, I grew up in the sixties. Check it out. http://blog.mjmurphy.com

did not make the original 69 event. too young and stupid. me and my friends started out from PA  heard roads were jammed and came back home!! what a misatke. next spring i went to see the movie and realized the grave mistake we made.

well finally made it up to the 40th anniversary legends of woodstock in 09. what an amazing day. to stand on the same grounds that 40 yrs before held such great artists and soooo many people was just awsome. a lump in my throat and an occasional tear in my eye stayed with me all day.i'll never forget that day.
