John Lennon was once quoted to say, "Music is everybody's possession. It's only publishers who think that people own it." And that pretty much says it all.
Music today makes me feel like it's manufactured. Everyone has a deadline to meet. Yes, there are some people left in this world today that do take the time to reach into their heart to find the words that they want to say, but I feel that it is very limited.
What makes…

So right but you know what many say its his best and you know what I do not think so because I listen to all of his stuff and it matters where I am at the moment because Tommy touched briefly and than instantly mastered so many styles. I get into moods and today I mostly listened to the spin he put to Deep Purple On Days May Come and Days May Go. I remembered when Ritchie Blackmore quit I was stunned I love Ritchie Blackmore well Tommy actually added a new funk soulful element and as the lp…

A friend of my named, Bob, was staying in Los Angeles in the spring of 1968 when I was seventeen years old. Bob asked me, "Would you drive me to a rock concert at the Swing Auditorium in San Bernardino, California? I’ll pay for the gas and buy you a ticket to the concert if you’ll take me."
"Sure”, I replied, "Who’s playing?"
"It’s a really far out guy named Jimi Hendrix. He's the most bitchin dude I've ever heard. His group is called The Jimi Hendrix…

Been playin' bass guitar for several years. Decided to take a break for a while, and got talked into playin' again this last year. Joined Johnny & The Crashers, and had a blast playin' Classic Rock & Blues for almost all of 2008.
Just after the first of the year, Liam (our singer) moved out of state. This pretty much ended the band, as Johnny decided there's virtually (in so many words) "No Life After Liam" for the band.
Johnny & Masa both have other activities…

When I was young, I was forced to listen to the likes of Backstreet Boys, and Nsync. (The 90's music scene was sort of depressing, except for Sublime, they're pretty good).
But I survived! Woo hoo, The Beatles saved me in a Yellow Submarine, no joke. I remember being in 5th grade and watching it for my 1st time. It blew my mind, and I have committed to Rock and Roll for the rest of my life. Dark Side of the Moon had the same effect later on. :)
I really dig The Doors, Beatles,…

I've had a number of requests to repeat a blog post. This was a letter that Paul wrote to John at his induction to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Just a warning, you might want to grab a box of tissues before reading it. It's very touching.
Dear John,
I remember when we first me, at Woolton, at the village fete. It was a beautiful summer day and I walked in there and saw you on stage. And you were singing "Come Go With Me," by the Dell Vikings, but you…

Pop Go the Beatles
Radio Series hosted by Joyce Kaufman and Edward “Woody” Lifton
I’ve wanted to feature this amazing collection, in our review section, for about a year, now. A single column review cannot truly do justice to Pop Go the Beatles- a very impressive set. Also, some of my criticisms are trivial and not really fair, when the number of hours of these 21 double episodes are considered.
In 2003,…

WOODY LIFTON’S “POP GO THE BEATLES” RADIO SHOW
BY Robin Roberts
As a lifelong Beatles fan, I thought I had heard and seen everything dealing with the Beatles. I was wrong. Woody Lifton’s “Pop Go The Beatles” radio show is not just any radio show. Woody puts his… Continue
