The Doors are trying again to appeal to a new generation with a video of “L.A. Woman” that is meant to appeal to the younger skateboarding audience. This seeking a legacy audience fits in with recent collaborations with Skrillex and TechN9ne.

The “L.A.Woman” video features professional skateboarders Kenny Anderson, Alex Olson, and Braydon Szafranski skateboarding through Doors heavy environments from Venice Beach, the Sunset Strip and downtown L.A. The video also has the skateboarders meeting up with Doors drummer John Densmore, Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, and in a special cameo the skateboarders stop for Elektra Records founder Jac Holzman coming around a corner on his scooter with a rack on back to carry albums, a reference to how Holzman actually went around selling Elektra albums in his early days.

The video is an edited version of the song coming in at only 3:34, omitted is the entire middle section with Morrison‘s “Mr. Mojo Risin” chant. The video seems to have an official sanction from The Doors (besides the cameos) on Youtube, the video is on The Doors official Youtube channel. You can watch the video in the left-hand sidebar of this article.
