1969 - The debut album by Crosby, Stills & Nash enters the charts in the U.S. The first single released, “ Marrakesh Express,” becomes a hit single on both sides of the Atlantic.
1973 – Herman’s Hermits and Gerry and The Pacemakers headline Richard Nader’s British Re-Invasion show at Madison Square Garden in New York.
1978 – Kansas is the first band to be named Deputy Ambassadors of Goodwill by UNICEF, the world charity organization. A cake cutting ceremony is held backstage at Madison Square Garden in honor of the band.
1980 Paul McCartney’s “ Coming Up” is #1 in the U.S.
