Thanks John, I knew Scott went way back but didn't realize he went back as far as '74! That's an awesome fact. Always been a big fan of Thin Lizzy but was never very knowledgeable of members much beyond Phil Lynott.

Black Star Riders is Scott Gorham's baby and he is as close as you'll get to an original Thin Lizzy member, joining the band in 1974. Gorham and Phil Lynott were, in fact, the heartbeat of Lizzy at their peak. They were very close and other band members felt excluded from the private club they seemed to form. It became very destructive though with both of them forming a heroin addiction. Scott was also always one half of the famed 'twin lead guitar attack', with various partners over the years.

No in fact i'm pretty sure there are NO original members! Phil Lynott who WAS Thin Lizzy died in the mid 80s! But this was the band that was touring under the name. So when they decided to record some original material they felt it would be disrespectful to Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy, not to change their name. This made me like them before I heard them!
