They've done that in several shows...now they have a cell phone ring.

I first saw Tull in 1975 in Norman Ok.  And I've seen them 20-25 times since then...EVERY show is good with EVERY version of the band...including the Ian Anderson show in Durham last Oct.

I keep hoping that a Tull fan group will be started here!

Regards to all,

Ed

The first concert I ever saw was Jethro Tull at the old Boston Garden. That was back in the fall of 1972. The place was packed with about 15,000 fans and I remember the sights and smells so vividly. The band was out promoting their new album Thick As A Brick and to this day I listen to it with the same intensity if not more. If anybody saw one of their shows on the tour, you can back me up. Right in the middle of one of the songs (I can't remember which one), a telephone started ringing loudly through the PA system. Ian Anderson stopped and there was musical silence. On a table on stage was an old style black rotary phone that I failed to previously notice. He answered the call and through the mike asked, "A call for Mike Nelson..Is Mike Nelson here?" A man dressed in scuba gear showed up on stage and answered the call, spoke for a few seconds, hung up, left the stage, and the song continued exactly where it left off.

Does anybody recall this? And yes, I was high but NOT that wasted. Actually, I found aa reference to it by a writer who attended that concert back in Iceland. Here's the link. http://www.seattlepi.com/lifestyle/blogcritics/article/Music-Review...

Did anyone get to see last years tour of Thick as a Brick I and II played together?

Saw it in Durham, NC.  GREAT SHOW...

If anyone can tell me how to start a new fan group, I'd start a Tull Fan group!

Thanks for posting Linda - this was the first tour that I saw Tull - great show - of course I caught a show on the West Coast of the US, not the MSG show......great stuff - Uriah Heep opened the show!
