Classic Rock Fan Community: Led Zep, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Doors & More
The "Ultimate Road Trip" Collection.. I'm looking for your help!
Like many middle-aged adolescents, every year, me and some buddies make a golf road trip during the summer - and last year, for whatever reason, they became obsessed with listening to "Cowboy" by Kid Rock, like, over and over and over again.
This year, the thought has arisen that perhaps I will dissuade them from doing this again by putting together the "Ultimate Road Trip" CD - a collection of the perfect 20 songs with which to resurrect our lost youth.
So - I'm reaching out to the Mog world for assistance - here's the plan. I will make my list, and every blogger will have the choice of cutting up to 5 songs, and replacing them with their own - keeping in mind the theme of this CD - so please, no Culture Club or Joy Division.. the concept being that after (hopefully) much input, I will end up with the "Ultimate Road Trip CD".

Good call on Ramblin Man.. and I did have Free Bird in the first draft, but wanted to spread the artists around.. problem is you've given me three new songs and only two cuts.. so I'm going to use editorial license, and I'm taking Free Bird and Ramblin Man - you're first two choices.. and I tend to agree with the Lester Bangs character in "Almost Famous" that the Doors were "drunken buffoons, masquerading as poets".. so, I'm going to leave out Roadhouse Blues..
