Were you a fan of The Chambers Brothers? Check out Lester Chambers Saturday night!

The Chambers Brothers were about as influential as they come in the 1960s when it comes to bridging multiracial divides and speaking to the cultural climate of a nation.  Much the same as Sly and the Family Stone and their hits, The Chambers Brothers wrote and performed music that still has an impact today when we think back to those times.

Whether it was performing Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready" and turning it into a hit yet again, or one of their own compositions -- the groundbreaking, 11-minute "Time Has Come Today" that's been featured in a few hundred movies or television programs through many years as a way of "defining" the late '60s in America and the feeling of a nation about that turbulent time -- The Chambers Brothers' music has remained timeless to this day.

Well, I can tell you that Lester Chambers -- the man who provided the cowbell sound that was such a central part of "Time Has Come Today" -- is still very active today, and he is working on a major comeback.  He has his own group, the Lester Chambers Blues Revue, and I have heard these guys in person myself.

Lester is singing with deep, heartfelt emotion.  His blues harp playing is as phenomenal as ever, and his son Dylan -- named after Bob Dylan -- has been performing right along with his father and is keeping The Chambers Brothers name out there while working on forging a music career all his own, carrying on the Chambers Brothers' legacy.

Lester and the Blues Revue will be performing LIVE ONLINE IN A STREAMING CONCERT STRAIGHT FROM THE BAY AREA Saturday at 6 p.m. Pacific Time.  This will be through Stageit.com, and tickets are available NOW!  Click on the link here for a ticket:  http://www.stageit.com/lester_chambers_and_friends/live_streamed_to...

Here's a link to a video of The Chambers Brothers performing on the old Mike Douglas Show in 1972.  Between songs, Lester is shown signing something for John Lennon.  Great songs, cool video!
