Sept 25th 1980, John Bonham, drummer with Led Zeppelin, died aged 32 after a heavy drinking session. ‘Bonzo’ was found dead at guitarists Jimmy Page's house of what was described as asphyxiation, after inhaling his own vomit after excessive vodka consumption, (40 shots in 4 hours). During live sets his drum solo, ‘Moby Dick,’ would often last for half an hour and regularly featured his use of his bare hands.

24th Sept 1972, 'Led Zeppelin IV' was on the UK album chart. The 19th century rustic oil painting on the front of the album was purchased from an antique shop in Reading, Berkshire, England by Robert Plant.

Led Zeppelin cover tunes can be risky but I agree the Great White album is a good one.

I am amused with all the Led Zeppelin cover tunes. However, I bought Great Zeppelin Album (Great White Live Zeppelin Cover Tunes) the Other day. Wow! I was very impressed from start to finish. If you have not heard it, you need too!

It's always been hard for me to name a "favorite" classic rock band. I won't definitively say Zeppelin is my favorite, but damn, these guys were just something else. Being able to photograph them and interact with them in their prime was something I will never forget. They are extraordinary. Here's the LZ link and there are more coming becasue as everyone knows, you can never get enough Led
