Hi Rich and Karen the artists for this design and the others I also posted is Erica Iris Simmons and I believe there was no photo editing software but she used only the ribbon from the cassettes to create these images.  There are several other artists who have done the same if you do a search for "cassette tape art" and you can apparently buy on ebay from a couple of them!  It is a very creative way to recycle those old obsolete cassette tapes isn't it?  I will add the artist's name to the description too.
