Classic Rock Fan Community: Led Zep, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Doors & More

Being an old git I have been fortunate enough to have witnessed Led Zeppelin live. The concerts I attended were : 1971 Liverpool Stadium, my very first concert and it was memorable. 1973 The Empire Theatre Liverpool, the concert lasted a lot longer than the first one. Earls Court London, my friend and I hitchiked there and back.....Boy that was an experience in itself!. They were on stage for well over three hours. I managed to get the programme home in one piece, which was a feat in itself, and I still have it too! What are your experiences of seeing them play live? It would make interesting reading.

Come on !! surely I'm not the only one to have seen the original group live????

you're so far up their a$#  - no surprises here..

i was supposed to see them and it never happened -  Bonham died :(  I raised a child alone and not a lot of cash for concerts, etc.. I sure wanted to see them.  Maybe I should have been eating more pudding :) I never got much pudding because I didnt eat my meat :(

I'm sorry if it seems like bragging Karlee, I was just aqt the right place at the right time, it seems like I have got up Amstels nose for seeing them live.

Not at all Joe, It's a great post and glad you got to see them live.

Oooooh Miao !do I detect a hint of jealousy there Amstel, and what do you mean you have definitely heard more Zeppelin live than I have. I suppose you must have every single concert of Led Zeppelin on bootleg if so you must have about 350, have you got a copy of the Liverpool concerts, or do you know where I can get a copy, as nobody in 40 years has ever made it known that tapes exist. I sense a hint of one upmanship on your behalf, and it is not necessary at all. Still as I know for a fact listening to it is not the same as being there and listening to it. As I said it is because I am old enough and lucky enough to have been able to get tickets. The Earls Court ticket I bought from a friend, and I only paid the face value for it.

I didn't realise that they had actually perfumed over 500 concerts, they must have done nearly 50 a year every year. That's a lot I'm impressed.

I didnt realize that either.. Am very impressed by how long their concerts lasted.. I remember so many live performances at that time were barely an hour.

Yes I have 11.One on vinyl which I bought when it was released in the uk. The others are from what a friend of mine taped for me, they are :Mudslide, For badge holders, Listen to this Eddy 1,2 &3, Live from Essen, 3 cassettes of Live at Earls Court, an the very night I was there so I was pleased with that, Live in Tokyo, Going to California, Going to California again. There are bits of all different concerts all one one cassette, overall there is approximately 20 hours of bootlegs that I have.

Yes the Blueberry Hill vinyl I have has obviously been taped by someone in the audience with a microphone, at the beginning of Dazed and Confused you can hear someone say "What is that" and the bass is very low.

ah yes The Millard Masters!

Hey Ams I can't find any info for 3-13-75 at Nassau, but I do find for 2-4-75 there! These boots are so famously designated on wrong dates and venues for that matter. I just wonder if 3-13-75 is correct? Any help on this would be great!

BTW are all of your boots silvers? That can be expensive! lol!!
