The drum solo could be a bootleg (read:rare live) recording. Or I'm sure you have it, but it may have been Bonzo's Montreaux off the Coda album.

Group, am I glad to join your ranks. My love affair with all things Zep started back in 1993, when I was lagging around a dance at summer camp and suddenly "Stairway" came on. I was gobsmacked that someone could write a rock song featuring a recorder. Needless to say, I've been hooked ever since, I love them for their brilliance and artistry, the fact that they take classic blues and actually manage to improve upon it, and I can't think of another band who has dabbled in so many different genres and pulled it off so well. Also, the fact that Jimmy Page actually PRODUCED all of their albums is something to be reckoned with - there was no Phil Spector or George Martin dabbling around with the tracks in the studio, it all came from Pagey himself. Long live Zep!

George - what do they mention about the cover of led zep 3? I love that album cover (and the music)... I can never find that on vinyl anywhere without paying $30 for it.

Rich true to a certain point but what zepp did as much as I love them is so blatant even Jeff Beck who is so skilled as a guitarist but is not that as well blessed writing never violated those lines I still love zepp because some of their stuff is killer classic but I look at the whol;e perspective from all angles well we can agree on 1 thing they were great so we will just leave it at that and I will again ask you about King Crimson and how about one of the greatest guitarists ever bar none Tommy Bolin in all of the various genres he mastered in his few years that we were blessed to have them anyone want to join?George I will have to get that because that is an lp especially if you have the original working spinning Wheel and Broadway label or master that goes for about 50 all of the time I have a few copies in my store and 3 two being masters of it because it has a few of my favorites on it Since I been Loving You and Tangerine Page really shines on those tracks

Hey Zep fans. Check out the new march issue of Guitar World. They have a really good feature on the band. They also talk about the cover art on Led Zep 3. Good reading

Glen - i think you will find that deep purple and black sabbath borrowed from blues and even led zeppelin themselves. Blues in general influenced many classic rock bands.

I love Zeppelin but I like a lot of other bands more because I know I will get many upset but I never really cared for Plants singing and much of their early stuff was directly ripped off from either blues people or musical direction from Jeff Beck or bands directly like the Immigrant song listen to Ride the sky that came out a year before Immigrant Song by Lucifers Friend Thats why I always ride with Black Sabbath and Deep Purple who all got big about the same time but really were groundbreakers. Now musically Page does kick ass on the guitar and Bonham was the ultimate power drummer for hard rock but they are so over rated even on here but thats all good because most people I notice will claim something as their favorite because somebody else does. Many of my top favorite guitarists are not even judged as good by most people well I hope that I did not hurt anyones feelings because we all have opinions and choices thats what makes this world such a interesting place

All the songs are GREAT, How can you pick one?? If you REALLY want to hear the band DO-IT OLD SCHOOL-VINYL. I own all the albums plus about 15 bootlegs all in vinyl. Live at BBC used to be played on the radio during LED-ZEP extened plays. A radio station in N.Y.C did it every friday nite 102.7{changed format} Listen to Going To California on bbc live, its the 2nd track.
