i owe jim morrison big-time for inspiring me to become a writer. that might be his most important and lasting contribution. i'm now in a master of fine arts program for fiction at texas state university, working on my first novel. thanks jim!

So what's going on with When You're Strange? Is it ever coming out?

I fell in love with the Doors from the first time I heard Jim's voice belting out his lyrics. I was in awe!! The band as a whole completely blew my mind. They have the magic that not every band can have! My life and outlook on music changed forever and I thank them everyday for it!! Jim was a one in a million and even though I was not alive when he was, I still feel that in a way I knew him.

The Doors blew up from their years of mind expansion, once Jim started to become a drunk, their music had a little more blues feel to it. No doubt were they the best band around, when I try to introduce them to someone, I noticed it's the narrow minded people who don't really get into them that much. I know it's like mainstream doors, but Light My Fire was the first song of theirs I heard at 10, been listening to them ever since, but once I was 15 and really started to understand them, my mind was open to everything. My whole attitude towards life and everything, I'd be lying if I said they didn't. I've heard them sober, stoned, drunk, even frying on acid, I've heard something different everytime, certain songs came in different perspectives that I never saw before, I'm all for mind expanding, and I thank The Doors for opening up my eyes in so many ways, in my book, The Doors live on forever..... and I broke through to the other side, it is infinite.

Zero, I stand corrected.... however the Doors debut album came out in Jan 1967. I meant those two albums first came out in '67 along with Sgt. Pepper's. Sorry I didn't comment that clearly in my original post. Thanks ;-)
