Merry Christmas from The Doors Examiner! I hope everyone has had a restful and happy holiday today!

I hope all The Doors Examiner subscribers and readers have enjoyed this year’s articles! It’s always amazing the journey The Doors still take us on 40 years after their heyday.

The Doors have proclaimed 2012 to be “the year of The Doors” with releases including 40th anniversary editions of “L.A. Woman”, newly recovered tapes from the London Fog, the first club The Doors played on the Sunset Strip, the Matrix shows will also be re-released in a special edition. Ray Manzarek is expected to start the filming of his feature film of his own novel, “The Poet in Exile”, John Densmore’s new book is expected out either in spring or summer of this year, and this is only the announced stuff!!! Who knows what the new year will bring in tours and as of yet unannounced projects!

I have plans for The Doors Examiner too! In a week or so a review of Dennis Jakob’s book, “Summer with Morrison”, an interview with author Greil Marcus, a new celebrity Top 10 favorite Doors songs!

The video (in the left hand sidebar of this article) is a documentary by Dean Preston of the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Jim Morrison’s death at Pere LaChaise Cemetery this past July 3-4. It includes a brief interview with me, I hope you enjoy it!
