BTC 2012- Reviews from our Cruisers

Posted on March 16, 2012 at 7:52am 0 Comments

Well, as I'm sure you know by now (if you don't...where have you been...LOL) Beatles Tribute Cruise 2012 has come and gone. Those of us who put it together (Angela, Donnie G, Joe Johnson and myself) all felt it was the best BTC yet. But, more importantly our cruisers feel the same way. So i'd just like to share what some of feedback we have received from those who paid to be among the 200 Beatles Fans that joined this unique Beatles Themed Event.

Hi Donnie, Joe, Angela and…

Pop Go the Beatles- Paul's Letter to his friend John

Posted on October 8, 2008 at 5:29pm 0 Comments

I've had a number of requests to repeat a blog post. This was a letter that Paul wrote to John at his induction to the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. Just a warning, you might want to grab a box of tissues before reading it. It's very touching.

Dear John,

I remember when we first me, at Woolton, at the village fete. It was a beautiful summer day and I walked in there and saw you on stage. And you were singing "Come Go With Me," by the Dell Vikings, but you… Continue

Pop Go the Beatles

Radio Series hosted by Joyce Kaufman and Edward “Woody” Lifton

I’ve wanted to feature this amazing collection, in our review section, for about a year, now. A single column review cannot truly do justice to Pop Go the Beatles- a very impressive set. Also, some of my criticisms are trivial and not really fair, when the number of hours of these 21 double episodes are considered.

In 2003,… Continue

Hello Woody,
I like what you are doing and I think the Beatles Cruise sounds like a winner. Soon I will have some time and I will put my Beatles story on your history site. Until then I want to share a poem that I wrote, on the day that John died, with you.

FRIEND OF BLUE by Alan Baker Schultz

Dear Angel Blue

I was in Amsterdam too

And you were the one

Who helped me through

I thank you

By and by my friend of blue

A friend I only listen to

We wanted to play with you

But now you’re gone

And I’m left with your song

A song which has no end

A Men

You will never leave me

You are deeply planted in my heart

And from the very start

From Penny Lane to Cleveland

You were with me

So please let this be a message to you

This is not the ending

This is the beginning

Hey Woody,
Thanks for thinking of inviting me. I'm here, but not to familiar with how to navigate here. I am attempted to send a YouTube clip of a song I really love. I hope I'm doing this right and you are able to access it. (Let me know, OK?)
Peace, K:)

Hey Woody, fellow Floridian here. Lakeland. I never got to see Paul. Lots of concerts on TV, he seems to have a really tight band now. And i like the choice of songs..

I'm originally from NJ, about 1/2 hr from where Bruce grew up. Asbury park. It used to be a happening place in the 60's with a great beach, rides, food, you name it. remember my parents taking me there many times. I even have a pic of madam maries stand ( yeh its still there! ). Saw him 5 times, some were those 4+ hr shows! Unreal....... Great at the Super Bowl too.

Talk to ya soon, i guess Florida will warm up soon huh? Gary
