thanks for sending the photo -- i have always liked that one from the band of gypsies release.

by the way, the equipment behind me in the picture is an fm radio control board from the station i used to run. i left that job about 18 months ago.

you asked what i do for a living. well just to sum it up, i have made it a point not to work anywhere for more than 7 years. right now i am called the public affairs director for minnesota's teacher union. i have also run a public radio station in duluth, worked for a women's college, and ran a statewide radio television news bureau for minnesota's state legislature- - lots of stuff and always involving communications.

i think of good writing kind of like a puzzle -- you try to get the right pieces together and once you do, you just know because it feels right. mostly your writing has a good balance of clarity and interest. it may not come naturally to you, the final result appears that it does.

thanks so much for letting me know about these sites. i am going to try to listen to you on the radio if at all possible tomorrow -- otherwise i'll listen to it from your site.
