1959 – Billie Holliday, dies of a heroin overdose. Billie is considered to be the first female blues singer ever.
1968 – The Beatles premier the motion picture” Yellow Submarine” at the London Palladium.
1972 – Sly Stone is arrested by police in Santa Monica for possession of dangerous drugs. Charges are soon dropped when the “Dangerous Drugs” turns out to be cold tablets.
1972 – A Rolling Stones equipment van is blown up in Montreal. The blast destroys 30 PA systems and shatters windows in nearby buildings.
1974 – The Moody Blues open their 32 track-recording studio in London. It is specifically designed for quadraphonic recording.
1974 – The united States Justice Department orders John Lennon to leave the country or be deported. John returns with filing a countersuit against the department.
