1965 – Jefferson Airplane makes their first public appearance at the Matrix Club in San Francisco, a place owned by group founder, Marty Balin.

1966 – The Lovin Spoonful’s classic hit “Summer in the City” is #1 on the American charts.

1976 – The Clash make their concert debut in London.

1977 – Bachman-Turner Overdrive disbands when group founder Randy Bachman leaves to start a solo career.BTO recorded six best selling albums to become the #1 Canadian band.

1977 – Cherie Currie quits the Runaways to go solo. She lands a role in the teen flick “Foxes”
