1877 – Thomas Edison invents sound recording. He rocks out with an intense version of “Mary Had a Little Lamb”

1966 – The Beatles start their American tour.

1967 – Fleetwood Mac makes their stage debut at Great Briton’s Nations Blues and Jazz Festival. Also on the bill, Pink Floyd, Cream, Small Faces, Ten Years After and Donavan.

1978 – Former Who manager, Pete Meaden commits suicide.
