I believe the term is Glam-"Rock". David Bowie is very-very rock. "Gender-bending" and dressing like an alien was all about going against the norm and rebellion. Things like that is what Rock is all about. Besides he changed constantly being influen…

i dont think playing at woodstock counts or we add joan baez etc. true they are part of the classic rock era, but they cannot soley be classified as classic rock, they have more soul and funk and pop than rock. david bowie? hm we knew him as glitte…

My favorites have to be No One Here Gets Out Alive, by Jerry Hopkins and Danny Sugarman. That's just the best rock book of all time. Also, The Beatles by Bob Spitz is excellent. Very detailed. And of course A Long Strange Trip by Dennis McNally, G…

Fleet Foxes although new have definite potential to be one of the all time greats. Check them out. I have not heard anything like them. They have the best vocal harmonies. Think Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young combined with the Beach Boys. Fleet Foxe…

I've always liked the album, Station to Station. Songs like Golden Years and TVC-15. Not to mention Low was a landmark album in terms of production and innovation. Plus it had Sound and Vision on it.

David Bowie is one of the genius of classic rock, and helped to inspire 'glam rock' as we know. This is a group to talk everything about David Bowie.
