1969 – Maianne Faithful is found in a coma following a suicide attempt in Australia. Boyfriend Mick Jagger ends the relationship soon after retuning home after the filming of “Ned Kelly”

1967 – The Doors “Light My Fire” is leading the American singles charts.



1969 – John and Yoko Lennon unveil the Plastic Ono Band, on stage for the very first time. The gig is set up to promote “ Give Peace a Chance” recorded during the Montreal “Bed In”.



1975 – Keith Richard is arrested in Arkansas, and charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and reckless driving.

1964 – The Beatles first film, “ A Hard Days Night” has a Royal premiere at the London Pavilion, and is later nominated for two Academy Awards.



1965 – The Jefferson Airplane from in the Haight Ashbury district in San Francisco. Original singer Signe Anderson quickly quits the band and is permanently replaced by Grace Slick in 1966



1967 – Brian Jones is hospitalized for strain and fatique.

1969 – The Rolling Stones give a free concert at Hyde Park in London where Mick reads to the crowd of 250,000 an excerpt from a Shelly poem as a memorial to the recently departed Brian Jones.

1956 – The first single from Buddy Holly is released. “Love Me” on Side A and “Blue Days & Black Nights” on Side B.

1956 – Elvis Presley records “ Don’t Be Cruel” and “ Hound Dog” in NYC, his two all time
top selling singles.

1969 – Bassist Noel Redding and drummer Mitch Mitchell, quit the Jimmi Hendrix Experience when they learn of Jimmi’s plans to bring other musicians, writers and composers into the group.

1965 – The Red Dog Saloon, one of America’s earliest important rock clubs opens in San Francisco

1966 – The Beatles are awarded a Gold Record for the LP Yesterday…and Today.

1967 – Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are both found guilty on drug charges stemming from a February 27 1967 bust at Keith’s home in West Wittering, England. Mick is sentenced to three months in jail and is sent to Brixton Prison. Keith is sentenced to a year. Fans are shocked and outraged.
