1976 – Deep Purple announces their breakup after Ritchie Blackmore quit the band in 1975 to form his own group “Rainbow”

1976 – Allman Brothers Band roadie,Scooter Herring, is sentenced to 75 years in prison for distrubting cocaine and other drugs to Greg Allman. Allman was granted immunity in exchange for his testimony.
